Pommes Frites

Pommes Frites is a tiny place located on 2nd Avenue between 7th and 8th streets that sells twice fried potatoes with a wide array of dipping sauces for a great price. The Belgian-style thick- cut, twice fried potatoes are served up piping hot in a paper cone, for that authentic European feel. The sauces range from plain old ketchup to mayonnaise, peanut satay sauce and "mexican" ketchup. The sauces are many and varied, and Pommes Frites will let you sample everyone of them if you so choose. The basic frite sauce is just mayonnise, again European style, as they are known to dip their fries in everything but ketchup. A favorite is "War" sauce, which consists of frite sauce, peanut satay, and onions. Favorites among us BSIRADers were the teriyaki sauce, the Rosemary Mayo, and the War sauce. We'd recommend everyone buying two sauces and sharing them all. It makes for a good time, and you can taste everything. The frites come in sizes regular, large, and double for $4, $6.25 and $7.50 respectively. A regular was more than enough for one person, and two people can share the large and be satisfied. The sauces are $.75 cents each and come in generous plastic cups. Click on the logo to visit Pommes Frites' website and view their menu.

Verdict: Highly recommended by the BSIRAD team.
